[28 OCT | DAY 3]
The percentage of people following a plant-based lifestyle is continuing to rise along with the awareness of the multitude of benefits it brings. On 30 October 2020, the third day of the More than a Market 5 Years 5 Days Forum, forward-thinkers interested in making a difference in their corporate or personal lives were invited for “The Future of Food – China meets Germany.”
The myriad of guest speakers, who are experts in the Food and Beverage industry, Biotechnology, and Hospitality, gave a series of thought-provoking talks and tastings. These academic experts and multinational corporations from Germany and China provided insights to their sustainability strategy, allowing guests to enjoy an array of tastings along with their talks. Tastings included delicious plant-based variations, such as Z-Rou dim sum, “Chicken” by Haofoods and plant-based dairy from Doehler.
This day was curated together with our think tank partner, ProVeg International.
ProVeg is a leading international food awareness organisation working across four continents, with ongoing plans for future expansion. Their mission is to reduce the global consumption of animal products by 50% by the year 2040. They aim to do this by making plant-based lifestyles more attractive and accessible.
Animal consumption is responsible for many of the world’s most pressing challenges such as animal suffering, environmental degradation, the world hunger problem and many lifestyle diseases. This is why ProVeg is committed to promoting a socially responsible, plant-based lifestyle as a multi-problem solution.
